• At what age can I obtain a provisional permit in the state of California you must:
In order to obtain your learner’s permit, you must first complete a driver’s education course. You can take your driver’s education course when you are as young as 15 years old, and you can apply for your permit when you are anywhere between the ages of 15½ and 18.

• How long do I have to complete the course?
You have 1 year from registration to complete the Driver’s Education Classroom training and the Behind The Wheel Training courses. A new enrollment fee will be charged after one year.

• Can I get a refund after registering?
You may get a full refund on your first day of Classroom Training; there are no refunds after your first day.

• What are the restrictions on my driving privilege when I get my provisional license?
For the first six months after you are licensed, if you transport people under the age of 20, you must be accompanied by one of the following:

• Your parent or guardian.

• A licensed driver 25 years of age or older.

• A state licensed driving instructor.
For the first twelve months after you are licensed, if you drive between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. you must be accompanied by a licensed driver 25 years of age or older.

• Once I receive my certificate of completion, does it expire?
No, your Certificates are valid until you are 17 & 1/2 years of age, when you are no longer required to complete a Driver Education course to obtain an Instruction Permit.
